Functions of the graphic display with two windows (3D)

CGRAPH displays 3D objects in a view where the origin (0/0/0) always remains in the centre of the image. The origin therefore always remains part of the image; for example, you cannot zoom out beyond it to get to ‘the other side’ of the image. In addition, the z-axis is always oriented upwards in the default setting for a better overview. The display of graphics offers several options for modification.

Element Description
Tree view (red arrow) In this view, to the left of the actual graphic display, you will find all the important parameters for the individual graphics as well as settings for colours and appearance of the coordinate system.
Function bar (green arrows) Contains buttons for enlarging and reducing the view, for printing, and an option to remove the display
Angle settings (magenta arrows) Here you can adjust the rotation angles of the original image and the transformed image.
Status bar (yellow arrows) Contains a function for automatic, animated rotation of the graphic .
Parameters (blue arrow)) Contains the option to change a parameter. For information on how to adjust a parameter, see Notes on changing the parameter in the graphic display.

Function bar

The function bar (green arrows) provides buttons for quickly changing the display, printing and closing the graphic as a whole.

SymbolDescription
Enlarges the section (zooms in) by a factor of 2
Reduces the section (zoom out) by a factor of 2
Restores the initial section by resetting the scale and rotation angle to the values specified in the settings.
Opens the printer selection and prints the current view according to the general settings. Right-clicking on this icon opens additional settings.
Closes the current tab and thus the graphic display and all associated default pages.

Zooming in brings you closer to the centre. This also allows you to ‘dive into’ graphics and then visually ‘look around’ inside them.

The scaling can also be changed using the mouse wheel.

If the Original image linked field is selected, the original image is controlled via the Transformed image controls. The rotation, tilt angle and scaling are then always the same for both images. If this field is selected, both images are automatically rotated when Rotating around the z-axis.

Changing the rotation angles

CGRAPH provides two angles that can be adjusted:

AngleDescription
RotationSets the rotation angle around the z-axis. This rotation angle can also be changed automatically with the Rotate around z-axis switch
TiltDisplays the tilt angle of the x-y plane to the z-axis. This allows the graphic to be viewed from above and below.

Status bar

The status bar has three elements

Element Description
Left field Button for starting and stopping automatic rotation to the right
Middle field Slider for adjusting the speed of automatic rotation
Right field (blue arrow) Contains information or the option to change a parameter
